“FieldTrips” is either a day trip or a few days where I visit food areas of interest which may include farm visits, producers, wineries, restaurants and/or other places that people can visit. This is about offering Vancouver Foodster readers a chance to get out of town and take a “Field Trip” for the day or a few days to explore, learn, taste and experience.
I revisited Bowen Island recently, one of the best ways to get to Bowen for a day or afternoon trip would be to drive and leave your car in the parking lot at Horeshoe Bay or take the bus to the terminal. Take the BC Ferry as a walk on passenger ($12.10 roundtrip for adults) or if you feel the need to have your car with you then you can drive on the ferry with your car (extra cost for the car). Alternatively you can take the English Bay Launch service which is for passengers only to Bowen Island ($8 one way) from either Granville Island or Coal Harbour. Once on the board the BC Ferry for the 20 minute voyage to Bowen Island, you will find a cafeteria, washrooms and seats both inside and outside or if you go on the English Bay Launch Service (it is a water taxi with no services on board).
