Whenever anyone searches for Bowen Island – TBI’s website comes up first on all search engines (Chrome, Safari, Firefox). TBI’s website recorded over 108,000 users in 2021 an 18.5% increase over 2020. And now that travel is opening up, TBI’s website recorded over 50% increase in views for the first four months of 2022 (January through April) in comparsion to the same period in 2021. People are keen to travel and TBI’s website is the go-to resource for trip planners.

Social media
#Explorebc has over 5 million uses (2019) which equates to approximately 750 million impressions. Tourism Bowen Island’s social channels are growing daily with over 2,400 Facebook followers and almost 4,000 Instagram followers. We can help you tap into the social media hub. Youtube video marketing
Check out our Youtube channel and subscribe today. Video marketing is becoming increasingly important and Tourism Bowen Island will continue to focus on paid video promotions to expand reach and attract visitors.
Visitor Information Centre & Services
We operate the Visitor Information Centre May through September, providing valuable destination management. In pre-COVID 2019 we assisted over 31,000 visitors, a 47% increase over 2018 and a 286% increase over 2016. Last year, 2023, staff assisted over 25,00 visitors. Our year-round promotions and enhanced services are driving increases throughout the year.

We attend the Les Clefs d’Or Showcase (hotel concierge society), Vancouver’s most important tourism industry event prior to the busy visitor season..
Bowen Island Visitor Map & Guide
For 2024, 40,000 Visitor Map & Guides were printed and will be widely distribute across Metro Vancouver and on Bowen Island. This is TBI’s only print resource for 2024 and it offers really good exposure and value. This is a user-friendly visitor information map that has been carefully designed and is very popular with both foot and vehicle visitors. The map is thoughtfully designed to responsibly manage visitations and support community economic development.
Tourism Bowen Island members receive a 10% discount on all ads (except for already discounted offers.)

Who: Tourism Bowen Island Association is a registered not-for-profit membership- driven destination marketing and destination management organization (DMO). Our mandate is to promote sustainable tourism on Bowen Island; to provide a centralized structure for tourism on Bowen Island; to provide effective management and oversight of tourism on Bowen Island; to foster economic development through tourism; and to help protect and preserve Bowen’s natural habitats, cultural assets and community wellbeing through destination management practices and policies..
What: We promote Bowen Island to leisure travelers, meeting planners, travel and social media, and tourism professionals. Through a wide range of efforts and services we help build a strong, sustainable tourism economy on Bowen and we help support the success of our members. Through the visitor centre and our website, we provide valuable information services to visitors from all around the world and manage visitations using destination management best practices and policies.
